The Enfield Poets launch the Enfield In Poetry Map
Poetry flows through Enfield. It suffused the clay and was fired into the bricks used to build its houses. Why else should Enfield have so many poets starting with Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Raleigh, James I, through Thomas Hood, Charles Lamb, Keats, Stevie Smith and now Enfield Poets? Out of this arose the “Enfield in Poetry” map. Here markers are placed on a map of Enfield which, when clicked upon, produce a menu with an audio file of a poem relating to that spot on the map. More poems will be added and we are excited to see the Enfield Poetry Map grow over time. www.enfieldinpoetry.com
