A really well attended talk at our Literary Festival was “Maligned and Misunderstood?” – a fresh look at the characters of Mary Bennet and Mr Collins in context. Researched in detail by speaker Valerie Darville, the talk offered refreshing discussion and insight on these two perhaps harshly treated characters.
