It was an honour to welcome Simon Armitage, the Poet Laureate, to our 25th Anniversary Literary Festival at Forty Hall Estate
His presence brought a sense of occasion and excitement to the festival, throughout which he demonstrated a rapport, engaging listeners who responded with enthusiasm to his readings.
Simon Armitage read poems from his recent collections, Dwell and New Cemetery. While reading, he discussed what inspired each poem, and his stories helped the audience enjoy the afternoon even more.
